Everything a chat community needs, already built
No stitching plugins together. ChatBase comes with the parts people expect from a real chat site.
Private messages
Reply to a message, send pictures and files, and let each member choose who may write to them. Staff can mute private messages on their own.
A word filter that thinks
Catches disguised words like f*ck, sh1t or s p a c e d out, but never blocks innocent words such as “class” or “Scunthorpe”. Many languages built in, and you can add your own words.
Moderation that works
Warn, mute, kick and ban from a member’s profile. Members can report messages, and staff handle them from one queue, with a full history and activity log.
Friends and profiles
Profile cards with a status, bio, country flag and a friends list. Members can add friends, and ignore anyone they don’t want to hear from.
Pictures and files, safely
Photos are cleaned of hidden location data before anyone sees them, and files are checked. Only the right people can open them.
Your own admin panel
A dashboard, member list, rank editor with names and icons, room manager, permissions for every rank, and an activity log.
Looks good everywhere
Works on phones and computers, in light and dark, with emoji, notification sounds and smooth loading screens.
Live, not refreshed
Messages, the people list and notifications arrive as they happen. Nobody has to press refresh.

Join the early-access list. When ChatBase opens, you get your licence and download the package.

Upload the files to your hosting and open your site. The installer connects your database, names your site and creates your owner account.

Point your domain at it, open the doors and invite people. Run everything from your admin panel.

Good to know
Do I need to know how to code?
No. A guided installer asks a few questions (your database, your site name, your owner account) and does the rest. After that, everything is managed from your admin panel.
Where does ChatBase run?
On any ordinary web hosting that supports PHP 8, together with a free Supabase account for the database and live updates. You can use your own domain from any registrar.
Who owns the members and the messages?
You do. They live in your own database, on your own site. Nothing is shared with us or with other ChatBase sites.
Is it safe?
Passwords are stored hashed, photos are cleaned of hidden location data, and the database is never opened directly to browsers. You also get moderation tools, a word filter and an activity log.
Is ChatBase finished?
It is working and being polished for its first release. The early-access list hears first, and gets the price, before anyone else.
Can you set it up for me?
That is something we are considering. Choose “Set it up for me” or “Host the whole thing for me” on the form, so we know how many people want it.
